KVMA OFFICER NOMINATIONS

Dr. James Beckman: KVMA Vice President Nominee

I am James Beckman, a 2004 graduate of Oklahoma State Uni- versity College of Veterinary Medicine. In 2006 I began Gas Light Equine veterinary practice with my beautiful wife, Dr. Kerry Beckman. I am the proud poppa of two teenagers Dillon and Abbie. I served on the KVMA Board as a representative of the KAEP from 2017-2020. I then left the Board to begin a new business, Bluegrass Equine Emergency Service, in an at- tempt to make equine practice in Kentucky more sustainable.

My goal of coming back into the KVMA leadership is to in- crease the number of veterinarians who call Kentucky home, increase KVMA membership, and to continue the great strides made within the Mid-America Veterinary Conference. I would like to accomplish this by leveraging our interactions with the universities in our region to draw more graduates back to Ken- tucky or to Kentucky for the first time. 
