FROM THE KVMA EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR Greeting KVMA Members,

In this spring issue of the KVMA newsletter you will find several items of interest. A few things to note from the KVMA office. More of our KVMA e-mails are being found in the spam/junk folder. Please check this regularly for your KVMA membership e-mails and announcements in case you notice you are not receiving them. Our e-mail is info@kvma.org

Te KVMA Power of Ten Leadership program will officially begin in July. We have some spots available, and I encourage you to sign up as you will learn about the inner work- ings of the KVMA, learn more about our continued advocacy efforts, participate in team building activities and meet fellow colleagues from Kentucky who you might not otherwise. In fact, several of our current KVMA Executive Board Members are Power of Ten graduates.

Te MentorVet program will start their next class in August. Dr. Addie Reinhard is now taking applications for then next class. Please remember that these wonderful programs are available through a KVMA schol- arship with your membership. It is a great investment in the early stages of your veterinary career. Within this issue, there are informational fliers for both programs.

As Dr. Jason Rodgers noted, the KVMA Conference Planning Committee, led by President-Elect Dr. Brigette Dean-Hines, is very busy preparing an amazing line up of presenters for the 2022 Mid-America Veterinary Conference. Tere will be some fun networking events and a live band in the concert hall at Belterra that will be sure to get you dancing. Please mark your calendars now for September 23-25. You will be receiving updates on the conference very soon!

I look forward to meeting many of you at the upcoming meetings that will be held in our KVMA constit- uent districts within the next few months. KVMA helped coordinate these important meetings with the Kentucky Board of Veterinary Examiners (KBVE) regarding the modernization of Te Practice Act. Tis information and the individual meeting site/location are also in this newsletter.

Please reach out anytime to your KVMA office, we encourage you to get involved with your local Kentucky district as several are beginning to meet and get their area active, along with your state KVMA Association.

As always, KVMA appreciates your continued membership, support, and care for our animals. Kind Regards,

Debra Hamelback KVMA Executive Director
