Veterinary Technology Program at Morehead State University is accepting applications for a full- time position as an Assistant Professor, Veterinary Science. Te anticipated start date is 08/02/2022.


RESPONSIBILITIES: Teaches an assortment of courses in Veterinary Technology including but not limited to diagnostic im- aging, surgical nursing, small, large, and exotic animal handling and restraint, animal care techniques and clinical procedures, emergency and critical care. Acts as faculty advisor to students and meets the duties required of all faculty. Activities, including recruitment, that serve the program, department, college, university and region are expected. Assists in management of patient care for animals admitted to the Veterinary Technology teaching clinic. REQUIREMENTS: Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine (DVM or VMD) from AVMA accredited program required; licensed DVM. Eligibility for licensure in the Commonwealth of Kentucky and eligibility for D.E.A. controlled substance registration required. Significant large and small animal clinical experience required. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Teaching experience in a higher education environment. Graduate study beyond doctorate preferred. Evidence of instructional or teaching experience preferred. Research experience preferred. WORKING CONDITIONS: Assistant Professor will teach in a typical classroom environment or an internet-based environ- ment. Travel to a Regional Campus or off-site location may be required. Tis is a 12-month position. Some evenings and weekend work may be required.
