Elevating Safety in our Industry

BY PETER TATEISHI, CEO T

he construction industry is an industry focused on its people. Those who show up every day

to build a better tomorrow. It is why our industry’s top priority is keeping them safe and able to return to their homes and families.

Our jobsites pose many risks to the people who work on them. Navigating and mitigating those risks is everyone’s responsibility. Tankfully, we also have many professionals who are dedicated solely to the advancement of safety on our jobsites in support of our workers. Every year, AGC of California makes it a priority to recognize the companies and the professionals who go above and beyond in prioritizing safety and safety excellence. We do this through the Con- struction Safety Excellence Awards, which are highlighted in this issue of California Constructor.

These prestigious awards look at different job sizes and scopes, unique challenges on the jobsites, the initiatives and programs AGC of California mem- ber companies undertake to prioritize safety for their workers, and the safety professionals who go above and beyond

CALIFORNIA CONSTRUCTOR NOVEMBER/DECEMBER 2024

the call of duty to keep safety at the fore- front of every job. It is truly amazing to see the ingenuity and dedication AGC of California members have towards the safety of their employees.

We know construction workers are everyday heroes who put themselves in harm’s way to build a better future. We are incredibly thankful to the women and men who prioritize their safety and support their ability to continue their important work.

On behalf of AGC of California, we want to thank all our members for put- ting the safety of their workers first. For remembering that people have, and will always be, at the core of our industry, and their lives matter.

Congratulations to the finalists and winners of the Construction Safety Excel- lence Awards. We hope to see even more companies submitting and participating next year!
