On the job site, workers employ HammerTech solutions.
Georgia Bergers:HammerTech provides data that has never been accessible before. Historically, only lagging data has been readily available, and that has been limited at best. Now we provide leading data like pre-start risk assessments and pre-task plans have been buried in paper or pdfs. With HammerTech you have access to automated reports on these processes and can answer questions like: has every subcon- tractor submitted a JHA, has every worker signed onto a JHA, are we completing daily or weekly pre-start plans, and who is completing inspections as required and who isn’t. Now you can truly see safety program engagement at an organizational, project, subcontractor and crew level, which means you can focus your resources on gaps before they become issues.
California Constructor:Can you provide any recent examples of how your platform has helped AGC of California member employers?
Georgia Bergers:Blach Construction and Blois Construction were both shortlisted for an AGC of California Construction Safety Excellence Award this year, and they both cited Ham- merTech in their award entries, sharing about the role it played in elevating their safety programs. Blois had this to say in their CSEA award submission: “We
are now utilizing tools like HammerTech to streamline the management of our subcontractors. This platform allows subcontractors to upload all necessary documentation be- fore commencing work, including policies, safety plans, and training records. With real-time updates on daily planning and safety meetings, we can ensure that all required steps are completed before workers are added to a project. Tis system not only verifies qualifications but also enables quick access to records, demonstrating compliance and safety readiness

to all involved in overseeing the work.” Blach Construction also referenced HammerTech, noting:
“As our projects have grown in size and complexity, so has our use of subcontractors. Tis has led us to adopt a more advanced reporting system to improve how we bring new partners on board. Our recent switch to HammerTech is a clear sign of our commitment to enhancing safety engagement at all levels.” HammerTech’s own customer success team has pointed
out that “Blach Construction has built a robust user base that spans all their projects. Impressively, they have enrolled 730 subcontractors with 1,700 workers into HammerTech, ensuring that the platform is not only used by their employees but also actively by their trade partners. Tis widespread adoption fosters a unified commitment to safety across the board.”
California Constructor:Why was it important to HammerTech to sponsor AGC of California’s Construction Safety Excellence Awards and to participate in AGC of California in general?
Georgia Bergers:We want to be heavily involved in the in- dustry. Our service, product and business wouldn’t be what it is without two-way dialogue with the industry. On a personal level, I came from construction so the contractors involved in the AGC of California are very much my community and people that “get” the mission we’re on. Te AGC does a really great job of convening the industry
around important policy issues as well as emerging trends that we need to get out in front of. Also this year, AGC of Cal- ifornia made changes to the CSEA program that we are very supportive of. Now it is a year-round initiative to ensure that construction safety isn’t just spotlighted at CONSTRUCT but multiple times throughout the year – just as it is practiced in the field, day in, day out.
