After falling short of expectations the year before, the team was determined to prove they belonged back on the big stage. “This year, being able to play in a championship game there was your home crowd on that kind of stage.”
The foundation of the Hornets’ success was their chemistry and collective leadership. A senior-heavy lineup featuring Williams, Wob- be, Heckemeyer, and others delivered on years of shared experience. “We’ve been playing together since we were little,” Wobbe said.
