The Wren Cousins: Southern Boone’s Dynamic Duo
With generations of athletes don- ning the Eagles’ red and black, the name Wren is practically stitched into the fabric of SBHS sports history. And at the heart of it all right now are two standout seniors—Adisen and Jace. With a long line of athleticism and community involvement, everyone knows the last name Wren, and it’s safe to say that winning is a family tradition. Cousins Adisen and Jace have carved their own dominant paths in the Eagles’ athletic programs, following in the footsteps of relatives before them. Since they were born, whether on the basketball court, the softball or baseball diamond, or simply cheering each other on from the sidelines, these two seniors have, without a doubt, upheld the family name. “Our family has grown up in Ashland, and we’ve always been Eagles,” says Adisen. “My dad was the head coach of part of a legacy like this.” Jace agrees, saying, “My parents and grandparents all played sports here. My sisters, Jayden and Jersee, Athleticism and school pride run deep for the Wrens, going back pact on the school where he played basketball and baseball, then

coached both of Jace’s and Adisen’s parents when they were in school, and his name is now enshrined on the court where Adisen and Jace have played some of their biggest games. Their grandmother was a cheerleader and ran track for Southern Boone, and their mothers (who are sisters) went on to become all-state athletes in multiple sports. Both of their fathers played basketball and baseball for the Eagles, and all of their siblings, as well as many of their cousins, have also played or currently participate in Southern Boone athlet- ics. For Jace and Adisen, family is everything, and it shows, espe- cially in the stands. “You are always able to point out who the Wren family is in the gym… (the loudest ones),” Adisen tells us.
