Distinguished Young Pharmacist Award Melody and Don Savley

Te Distinguished Young Pharmacist Award was presented to Lacy

Epperson. To be eligible to be nominated for the award, an outstanding young pharmacist must be a member of the Missouri Pharmacy Association, licensed in Missouri, received his/her entry degree in pharmacy no more than nine years ago, actively practicing in retail, hospital, or consulting pharmacy, and participate in pharmacy associations, professional programs, and/or community service. Lacy is a 2020 graduate of the University of Missouri-Kansas City

Springfield Satellite Campus Doctorate of Pharmacy Program. Lacy has professional practice experience in community pharmacy management, long-term care and consulting, and specialty pharmacy. Lacy enjoys teaching Community Health Workers in training and implementation methods to pharmacy teams to advance community pharmacies and improve care coordination. She has found a passion in innovation by learning within the CPESN network in her role as a Regional Facilitator for the Southwest Missouri region. Tis has allowed her to develop new ideas and pilots including the implementation of the recent Vaccine Gap Closure initiative, which has been heavily reliant on the utilization of Community Health Workers - and creating a replicable model, while also finding success in the ability to generate revenue and reinforcing the value of data to payors. Lacy’s primary role in addition to traditional staffing, is serving as the Director of Pharmacy Clinical Services at Mitchell’s Drug Stores in Neosho, Missouri. When she’s not working, Lacy stays busy and enjoys spending time with her husband, Jarrett, one-year old son, Jace, and dog, Obi.
