ARPC Spotlight
Huntersville ARP Church dedicated a new bell tower on Sunday, August 2, with a fellowship lun- cheon and brief dedication ceremony after morning worship. The church bell was purchased from Mc- Shane Bell Co. in 1887, and was signed for by Rev. - ing. When the second sanctuary was built in 1901- 1903, a tower was included in the new building to house this bell, with a long rope hanging down for ringing on the Sabbath Day. The bell remained there until 2006, when that building was demolished. The bell and its mountings were taken to Sam McAu- lay’s farm and were cleaned, sandblasted, and painted by members of the church, but then went unused and in storage for almost 20 years. In late 2024, when the church started a committee to cel- ebrate 150 years in existence (organized March 25, 1875), a bell tower subcommittee was also formed to explore ideas for the old bell. With the completion our new tower. We give thanks to the Lord for his provision in preserving His saints at Huntersville ARP for over 150 years. May this bell and the sound of its ringing remind us of His calling and preserv- ing us all, from generation to generation.
