The Unseen Ministry of the ARP Church

Hickory Grove, SC on two and a half acres of land. They had only a
frame house, a garden, and one milk cow. It soon became apparent that a larger farm was needed. Hearing of the need, the Dunlap family in West Tennessee gave over 300 acres of farmland with valuable buildings to the cause. These carried out. In its time, the orphanage cared for hundreds of children, some of whom later became ARP ministers and others who became leaders in their communities.
Since our denomination no longer has an orphanage in place, Dunlap en dowment funds continue to be used to support Christian homes for children without parental care. In addition, the Dunlap Board also oversees the Adop and families in the process of adopting a child.
It should be noted that the Dun lap Foundation receives NO money from the Denominational Ministry Fund (DMF) or from the two annual Synod special offerings at Easter and Thanksgiving. Additionally, monies for the Adoption Assistance Fund come solely from gifts from individu als and churches designated for that cause. The Board is grateful for the gifts that are received in support of its mission “to provide care, support, maintenance, and education of or phaned, or fatherless, or helpless, or needy children, and to support proj ects related to such children.” Unfortunately, orphaned, father less, helpless, or needy children often are the “unseen ones” whose physi cal, emotional, educational, social, and spiritual needs go unmet, or are met sporadically or very poorly. Yet, one of the strongest admonitions Christians receive in Scripture as evidence of the genuineness of their faith is to care for “orphans and wid In some respects, the Dunlap Foundation itself is an “unseen” min istry of the ARP Church. Therefore, I invite you to join us in making this vital ministry of our Lord more vis ible and effective by your prayers and gifts. Pray for the agencies we support, some of whom are in your own communities. And pray for the unseen children and youth who need to know the love and care of our Lord Jesus Christ.
The Dunlap Foundation provides two giving options for those whom the Lord prompts: giving to the Foun dation as a whole, from which our various ministries are funded, and to the Adoption Assistance Fund. Please prayerfully consider giving to one or both of these funds!
