sizes each month, he noted that the appetite for risk, which hit the highest level in more than two years in May 2024, still remains above average compared to the past two years. Survey respondents in June 2024 were split on their outlook for the U.S. economy during the com- ing year—39% foresaw mild growth, 28% predicted no recession, and 31% believed the nation could experience a mild recession. Investor relations professionals at the general session also voted on what they see ahead—53% saw inflation as the biggest risk to company earnings and predicted moderate growth ahead; only 6% saw a potential recession. Williamson noted that the political environ-
ment—especially international wars and ongoing tensions—is the biggest drag on equities. As for positive drivers of equities, he noted the
