MEMBER NEWS Blach Construction Announces Leadership Changes B

lach Construction recently announced that its board of directors appointed Daniel L.

Rogers as president of the Company. Rogers will succeed Michael J. Blach, who will maintain an active role as chairman of the board. Rogers, 48, served as executive

vice president and chief operating officer of the company for the past nine years. During his tenure, Blach Construction grew more than 150 percent, was recognized by Fortune magazine as one of top 30 best places to work in the United States (and the highest-rated general contractor in the country) and won numerous industry awards for outstanding projects. Rogers also played a key role in developing many unique and innovative customer solutions, such as Folia, the Company’s state-of-the-art, pre-engineered education facility. Te first non-Blach-family member

to lead the 47-year-old building contractor, Rogers takes over the helm from Mike Blach, 55, who has led the company for the past 28 years. As chairman of the board, Blach will continue to be highly

involved in the firm, focusing on strategic issues and advocating for the construction industry through his leadership role in the Associated General Contractors of California. He also will remain engaged in the community through his volunteer work with a number of charitable and public- service organizations. Blach noted that Rogers’

succession culminates a leadership succession plan that they developed many years ago. “Tis is an historic milestone for

our company,” commented Blach. “Dan is a dynamic leader – he’s strategic, insightful, customer-focused and a talented team builder. He’s also a man of integrity and action. I’m thrilled that he’s accepted this appointment, and I look forward to building on our thriving partnership. With Dan taking over fully the day-to- day operations, I have no doubt the company will achieve new heights.” A savvy leader whose skills have

been recognized throughout Silicon Valley, Rogers was recently honored by the Silicon Valley Business Journal
