Young Banker Leadership Division
Young Bankers Seek New Challenges, Career Growth
My name is Casey Crowell, and I am excited to represent the Young Bankers Leadership Division as your chair for 2022-23. Serving with me on the board are 16 other bankers located across the great state of Missouri. Our responsibilities include planning the annual leadership conference, advocating to legislators at the state level on banking issues, developing grassroots regional events and advising MBA on how best to connect with and support the more than 1,000 Young Bankers we serve.
When I graduated from college in 2004, I had no idea my career path would lead me to banking. When a unique opportunity presented itself to join Te Bank of Missouri in 2013, I dove in headfirst and counted on mentors to help connect me to the industry, where I was first introduced to MBA. My
involvement was first as a member, then as a graduate from the Banking Leadership Missouri program. I was later asked to serve on the Young Bankers board and most recently was installed as chair. Troughout the last 10 years, I have met so many bankers (who also have become friends) who have helped me in my professional development journey and have graciously taken my calls and answered emails when I need to run an idea or question by someone. I am grateful for my opportunities to learn and grow through MBA and look forward to helping others do the same.
With that in mind, this year we will be asking CEOs to “Bring a Young Banker” to various MBA events at a reduced cost. Te Young Bankers I know want to expand their knowledge and take on new challenges. Meanwhile, some banks are struggling with succession
planning. We want to provide opportunities to expose Young Bankers to education and networking events while helping to identify emerging leaders deserving of greater responsibility.
“Bring a Young Banker” will kick off with MBA’s 2022 regional meetings that will be held around the state beginning in September.
Save the date for the Young Bankers Leadership Conference, which is
Casey Crowell MBA Young Bankers Chair The Bank of Missouri, Cape Girardeau
scheduled for Oct. 6-7 at the Kansas City Marriot Country Club Plaza. Participants attend for educational and motivational presentations, networking and connecting with peers. Trust me, you don’t want to miss it!
