Contribution to MBA PAC is Investment in Your Bank By David Kent, Senior Vice President

As bankers, you know the value of investing for the future. I’m willing to bet this is a topic of conversation you have – whether with your family, staff or customers – nearly every day.

But do you view a contribution to your MBA PAC the same as you do a contribution to a retirement or savings account? If not, you should. A contribution to your MBA PAC is an investment in our industry’s ability to support the communities where we live and work and to protect our long-term viability.

MBA’s State Political Action Committees are nonpartisan, separate legal entities organized by MBA members to benefit the entire banking industry through political contributions to state candidates. Tey were organized to provide financial support for the political committees and campaigns of candidates for the Missouri legislature and statewide offices whose views and positions on banking issues are compatible with the interests of our industry. Each PAC is governed by an individual committee made up of MBA-member bankers.

Te 2022 general election is just around the corner (Nov. 8) and, believe it or not, planning for the 2024 election cycle — which features a gubernatorial race — is already underway. MBA is well-positioned to invest in candidates who support our industry and the communities and businesses we serve. However, it is critically important to not just maintain a strong PAC balance but to continue to grow it. Unfortunately, as our politics become more and more polarized, so do our candidates. Te ability to support pro-business and pro- banking candidates into the future is no longer a luxury but a necessity.

It’s not too late to contribute to your MBA PAC this year. Please contact David Kent at dkent@mobankers.com or Emily Lewis at elewis@mobankers.com for more information. Pony Express Region
