With a new administration, we also will be paying very close attention to new regulations coming out of the SBA and across the government. We are charged with pushing back on harmful policies, regardless of agency, and we will do so every time our economic success is threatened.


Overseeing the SBA and its lending programs is the perfect complement to my position as lead Republican


of the Consumer Protection and Financial Institutions Subcommittee. Just as they have throughout our history, financial institutions are playing a vital role in helping American businesses survive, and it is my honor to continue leading the subcommittee that is most closely associated with the industry. In this position, my goal remains the same: ensuring institutions maintain the ability to support the economic freedom that has created the most successful nation in history. Specifically, I


will continue my work to permanently eliminate CECL, ensure banks have the flexibility they need to work with customers who have been hurt by the pandemic and push back against every regulation that restricts or raises the cost of capital, among many others.


2021 has gotten off to a bit of a shaky start, but I am looking forward to continuing my work on the Financial Services Committee and my new role on the Small Business Committee. As always,
