FEEDING THE SPIRIT
1. Spend time in prayer. In order to grow in faith, we must actively and continually seek to develop a mature spirituality by making time for prayer every single day. Prioritize your own worship experience and sit in the pew from time to time. If your prayer life has become dry, perhaps explore new ways to pray: meditation, contemplation, Eucharistic adoration, scripture study, lectio divina, Liturgy of the Hours, etc. If you have never participated in guided spiritual direction or a structured retreat, now is a most acceptable time!
2. Re-establish relationships. We are designed for connection with others. Much of the pain we have collectively experienced during this past year has been the result of separation and isolation. It is vitally important to surround yourself with people who love you and who support you emotionally and spiritually, a support system of people that you can turn to when you are struggling.
46
“ Every moment of every day holds something to be thankful for: the air we breathe, another day to live and love, the beauty of nature, the opportunity to express ourselves, to create, to connect with others.”
