Women’s Ministries Annual Meeting By Susan Tanner
Center. After a year of not gathering, there were lots of smiles and hugs as the women gathered. The day started with seminars. Emily Woodard, Spiri- tual Life Chair- man, led a semi- nar on the 2022 study book on Elijah and Eli- sha. With another study in the Old Testament, parts can be challenging. When studying to lead your Circle or Bible Study group, “Read the scripture, take notes and ask questions, and then read the com- mentaries,” Woodard says.

he 106th Annual Meeting of Women’s Ministries met July 26 at Bonclarken Conference
said, “What a blessing it is to see how the Lord has used you and will use you. Over the last year I have been encouraged by all that women’s ministries does on the local and presbyterial level. Let us not grow weary in doing good as we face challenges. It is our unity in one another and prayer that the Lord will use us to minister to others.”
Brandy Glaser presented her Presidential address. It is so good to see all the ladies in attendance
after a rough patch known as Covid to glorify God together in fellowship. The past year and a half has shown us how important staying connected at the Local, Presby- terial and Synodical levels of WM is vital to the continuation of honoring our Vision Statement: Organization which encourages, equips, and connects the community of ARP women to minister together for God’s glory and purpose. I encourage you to seek opportunities to serve and support the local church.
Rebekah Carson led a seminar
on “Being Present in His Presence.” “How many grew up loving vegeta- bles,” asked Carson. Carson went on to compare that we all know we need to eat vegetables just like we know we need time with Christ. “What are the ways God wants to cultivate Joy in our lives,” Carson challenged. Isaiah 56:7, “These I will bring to my holy mountain and give them joy in my house of prayer.” Chip Sherer welcomed over 100
women back to Bonclarken and ev- eryone cheered. How great it is to be back! Women’s Ministries President,
Brandy Glaser, read the letter from Moderator Patrick Malphrus who
I hope you will provide younger generations opportunities to learn about de- nominational doctrines and ministries, while growing in their relationship to God through his Son, Jesus Christ. Encourage women to glorify God in their relationships with other women and equip leaders to guide women in fellow- ship together through service to the local church, community, and the world. Please pray faithfully for church leaders and ARPWM to work together for the Spiritual growth of our women. Hopefully, the time spent in a bubble has made our priorities align to what God wants in our lives, that is to reaffirm that our hearts are open to follow his direction through the Holy Spirit. Please don’t forget that our greatest desire is for women to Know Jesus Inti- mately, Love Jesus Faithfully, and Serve Jesus Fruitfully.
Katey Powell, Vice President, introduced Ann Gainey saying, she is the daughter of Retired ARP minister, Rev. Roy Beckham. She has written, “The God Chair: One Thousand Days of Pain with Purpose.” Ann Gainey says, “Bonclarken is my happy
place and I am happy to be here.” “We learn more from our valley places than
from the mountains and I pray that we may take what God teaches us on the mountain back to our homes.” We are always in a hurry but God isn’t. Her dad told her, “God always puts us on our backs so we have to look up to him.” Gainey closed saying, “Our time with God is
never a waste of time. We should first be with our creator so we can listen to Him. We should have no agenda but His agenda.” Sheila Osborne brought the “Mission Minute” by introducing a few mission-
aries who are home from the field, Rebekah Carson, Natalie Witte, Lisa King, Claudia Holmes, and Allyssa Harrington who is headed to the mission field.
