Wednesday Evening Business
Camp Joy opened the Evening session with singing. Delegates joined in with the hand motions to the song, “J is for Jesus, O is for Others, Y is for You.” Mel Wines led Worship from Exodus 3:1-10. “Without God, we cannot,” Wines said. “Moses had raw emotion. ‘I am afraid.’ Our feelings hold sway over our faith.” “Emotions and feelings don’t run the Christian. Redeemed hearts and renewed
minds run their lives. ‘I will be with you.’ God’s pressing in on you, you feel fear. Moses looks inside and now in the midst of fear realizes, ‘I am not enough,’” Wines continued. Verse 14, “I AM who I am.” “When we have a sense of being afraid. The Lord says we must obey. Moses was too focused on Moses. We must put our trust in God not in ourselves. When we feel not enough, God says, ‘I AM WHO I AM.’ Remember God is our maker,” Wines said. Business continued with a report from Inter-Church Relations. A report was heard
from Iglesia Presbiteriana Asociada Reformada de Mexico and it was approved to move to Fraternal Fellowship. Scott Moore translated as three representatives addressed Syn- that fellowship can increase and be strengthened,” the IPAR delegate said. Following this report, delegates sang from the Psalter 117A which is in Spanish and English. Zeeshan Sadiq shared a report from the ARP Church of Pakistan. “We treasure the long-standing relationship. Pray for the protection of our churches, especially with two recent events,” Sadiq said. World Witness shared a report. Chairman Matt Kuiken challenged the delegates, “Have you considered foreign missions? There is a great need.” Charles Hammond prayed for World Witness, “This is your kingdom and you call us in various ways.”
Thursday Morning Business
Gil Martin read Luke 9:1-6 to begin Worship. “Go out on Jesus’ authority to carry out the work He began,” Martin said. “We are called to preach the Gospel and nothing else. The Gospel and Gospel alone is the power of salvation. Dr. Cara once said, ‘We set ourselves on a slippery slope when we tamper with the Word of God.’” “God’s truth is God’s truth. Too many people have a greater fear of man than of God. Now is not a time for a weak church. We can be compassionate and not com- promise the truth. If we are to be fruitful in our ministry, we must fully rely on God,” Martin said.
Martin closed saying, “Whatever talents we have, they come from God. May we advance the Gospel to the ends of the Earth.” Business continued with a motion to adjust the order of the day. Another motion was made to make changes to the Form of Government in regard to FOG 5.2 and 5.4 (Women Deacons). There was a lot of discussion on referring it to Revisions and the protocol in which it can be handled. The order of the day came and the Moderator Elect David Walkup was elected fol- lowing by the Vice Moderator Elect, Frank Hunt III. The Memorials Report was next with the reading of the Canadian Presbytery Memorial. Therefore, The Canadian Presbytery of the ARP Church, humbly petitions the 220th Gen- eral Synod the ARP to release our presbytery for the formation of the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church in Canada beginning with our Fall Presbytery meeting, September 2025. This Memorial brought a lot of discussion. “We share the expression of affection. This has been a wonderful home for over 30 years. The only agenda we have is to be faithful to the Word of God. We pray to continue to have cooperative relations,” Jeff Kingswood said.
“I am thankful for the wisdom of these men. My heart doesn’t want to let them go,” Rick Anderson said. The Memorial passed.
