Moderator Elect & Vice Moderator Elect
Reverend Andy Putnam nominated Reverend David Walkup for Moderator Elect. Walkup grew up in Florida and went to Erskine Theological Seminary where he was the President of the Student Body. Walkup served the Johnson Creek, Virginia congregation and has been at Chapel By the Sea in Florida since 1997. He has served on many boards and committees on the Presbytery and Synod levels. “He is a devoted Presbyterian,” Putnam said. The nomination was seconded by Elder Bill McKay. “I know and respect David Walkup. I met him three years ago and was immediately impressed with his generosity and hospitality. He is a faithful and loving pastor.” David Walkup accepted the nomination by saying, “I am humbly standing before you. I appreciate this call for service. I covet your prayers and pray that we can press forward, seek God, and pursue the higher calling. Nothing can separate us from the love of God.” Walkup nominated Elder Frank Hunt, III who serves First Presbyterian Church in Lake Wales, Florida. “Hunt is

look over this assembly and could be fairly frightened. I see, however, friends - friends I grew up with in the Lake Wales ARP Church, friends with whom I attend Bartow ARP Church, former pastors - thank you - and former Camp Joy counselors who were in my Bible classes over the years. I see Bonclarken friends and neighbors, too. I love our denomi- nation because it has remained true to the inerrant, infallible Word of God. I love that so many of us know one another, and pray for one another. The Women of the ARP denomination was organized in 1915 as the Women’s Mission- ary Society. Our title has evolved, but we are still a missionary-supporting group. Over the years, we have solely supported women missionaries, who became known as our Jubilee Birthday Ladies. They were given that title on the 50th year of existence. I am so honored to say that in 2025 it will be the hundredth anniversary of the Jubilee Birthday Ladies. I’m sure these names are not new to many of you. Miss Mary Lesslie Miss Minnie Alexander Mrs. Janet White Mrs. Imogene Covone Dr. Margaret White

Tuesday Evening Business
Seth Nelson, Dean of Erskine Theological Seminary, started the evening business section reading from Isaiah 11. “A new King David will accomplish a salvation that includes a new Eden and a new Exodus,” Nelson said. Nelson continued, “Jesus Christ is the new King David. A new creation is the new Eden where we are never alone again. We are fully loved. Jesus rescues us from our slavery to sin and He brings us into His eternal rest.” Nelson closed in prayer “Empower us to do the work of the church so we can go to the ends of the Earth together.” The Special Committee on Net Asset Reallocations did not turn in a report but explained to the court the reasons. Chairman Harry
Jeffcoat said with the way of the stock market, they did not make any appeals but plan to pick up the process in the Fall. Erskine College and Seminary gave a presentation on their mission statement. President Steve Adamson shared how the local Due
West ARP Church will have an Associate Pastor of Youth and College Ministry position linking the college with the church. The Committee on Investment reported they manage all investment funds under the oversight of the ARP Foundation/Stewardship ARP Retirement Plan Trust, Endowment and Endowment-type Funds, and Charitable Remainder Trust and Gift Annuities. The Committee on the Minister and His Work encourages presbyteries to assist newly ordained pastors or pastors newly received
in a presbytery.
The Committee on Conferences plans to create a climate-controlled space in the upper gym at Bonclarken Conference Center to store equipment that is used every year. Their report also included speakers and themes for Horizon, Quest, and Family Bible Conference. The Canada Reformed Church delegate, Jeff Temple, brought greetings. They meet every three years and expect an exceptionally tough agenda.
