For so many businesses, while there was a theoretical acceptance of the no- tion of working from home, most employers had not seriously considered what a remote workforce might look like – until now.

Businesses have been plunged into the deep end of this change with little preparation. Association Management Companies stayed open as essential businesses throughout this crisis, as have many other businesses work-  provide enough distance for remaining employees, not to mention those who needed to stay at home for a variety of reasons.


After talking to a number of companies, here are some things that they did to help out:


 IT Departments scrambled to ensure that remote hook ups for stay-at- home workers were available


 Phone calls needed to be routed and managed to ensure continued cus- tomer service


 Staff and client meetings that were rarely held via teleconference suddenly became Hollywood Squares-type video get-togethers.


 Contractors who had to work at associations took additional steps to protect traveling employees and set up protocols to keep employees working as best they could.


With the state easing stay-at-home restrictions, new questions start to  protocols in place until a vaccine is developed and distributed? After all, 

For many workers, working remotely has been a positive shift in how they take care of business.
