Report on KVMA Power of 10 Leadership Program by Jen Quammen, DVM, KVMA Power of 10 Co-Facilitator and President Elect

The 2017 Mid-America Veterinary Conference brought our second Kentucky Power of Ten class to a close, but

their impressions on the KVMA and veterinary medicine will continue to be felt for years to come. Congratulations to Drs. Casille Batten, R. Lee Cundiff, Brian Davidson, Anna Jenkins, Iga Stasiak, Candice McGowan, and Emily Tincher.

We welcomed our third class into the Power of 10 Lead- ership Program. Our newest participants are from across the Bluegrass and already off to a fabulous start. We welcome Drs. Kristen Barnes, PeWee Valley Veterinary Center, PeWee Valley, KY; William Gilsenan, Rood and Riddle Equine Hospital, Lexington, KY; Jessica Gould, Foxwood Equine Sports Medicine, Lexington, KY; Lillian Haywood, Rood and Riddle Equine Hospital, Lexington, KY; Brian Kennedy, Wills Animal Hospital, Owensboro, KY; Baly McGill, Plantation Animal Clinic, Louisville, KY; and Candace Wardrip, Hardinsburg, KY. Tis class has already spent some time learning about themselves and their leadership style via Insights Training and a Herd Dynamics Workshop.

On a more personal note, I want to extend my sincere gratitude to Ms. Louise Cook (affectionately known as the KVMA Czar) and Dr. Heidi Hulon for helping to facilitate this impactful program for our association and profession as a whole. 
