Are you interested in KVMA’s Power of Ten Leadership Program?
Te Power of Ten Leadership (POTL) Program is designed to cultivate leadership capacity in recent graduates and provide learning experiences that will enrich the individual and benefit the individual’s practice, community, and profession. a way to help recent graduates answer questions like:
• “I finished veterinary school and I’m in practice – but how can I get a better grasp on what makes me tick?”
• “Now that I have a technical staff, how can I form, manage and lead an effective team?”
• “Who am I in the bigger picture, and what can I give to my family, my community, and my profession that will be my legacy?”
Te Power of Ten Leadership Program will provide ten recent graduates (graduat- ed from a college of veterinary medicine with a DVM degree in the years 2011-
2021) with five leadership development sessions over a one-year period. KVMA will provide topic experts and meeting expenses at no charge for participants to attend sessions that not only convey the key learning points about leadership, but also deepen the understanding of class members on a number of related topics.
• Personality assessments – understanding yourself and others to develop effective strategies to deal with different or difficult people/colleagues – our kick-off session is set for Friday, September 24th, 2021, at Te Galt House during the KVMA Mid-America Conference.
• Equine Guided Leadership Training: Versailles, KY • Communication within the practice setting and with staff • Compassion/Treatment Fatigue – how do I cope with the challenges of practice?
• Advocacy/Legislative Training - KVMA Board Meeting – Attend one KVMA Board meeting to learn more about how your Association works for the Veterinary Profession. Attend the KVMA Legis- lative Day at the Capitol in Frankfort, date will be set in February, 2021.
