Focus on Our Churches

Langham Evangelical Bible Church Langham, Saskatchewan Greg Guarnett, Pastor Matthew Oliver, Family Pastor langhambiblechurch.homestead. com We are thankful to have

experienced a month of “normal” worship services spanning the Easter weekend before public health orders tightened restrictions once again. God reminds us to be flexible and patient; He is teaching us that we must not take “normal” for granted. What a blessing it was to come together and celebrate Christ’s resurrection in person!

Our church family is growing!

Babies and chattering children are welcome sounds to our ears. Our small group ministry (Growth Groups) have been a blessing to those involved. Each week we study a little deeper into the message preached the previous Sunday using thought provoking questions posed by Pastor Matthew. Growth Group has provid- ed opportunities to grow in faith and friendship with each other, as well as develop a burden for the needs of those around us. An upcoming Baptism Sunday is sure to be an encouragement to all!

Recently, a men’s ministry and

fellowship time began, meeting one Saturday each month; the women’s ministry continues with an online Bible study through the organiza- tion, Love God Greatly. Coupled with occasional women’s encouragement events, this has met a real need for sharing and praying with one anoth- er. With summer on the horizon, we also look toward the possibility of Vacation Bible School ministry.

Crosspoint Bible Church Omaha, Nebraska Rich Peterson, Interim Pastor crosspointbible.org Summer brings lots of fun and

exciting opportunities for Cros- spoint! We are currently planning to hold our Vacation Bible School, “Mystery Island,” in June. In addi- tion, many of our teens will attend Christian Youth In Action (CYIA) at the end of May. These students will then go out into the Omaha area and teach 5-Day Clubs to help reach children with the Gospel.

In March, we held our annual

missions conference, Hearts for the Harvest. Although we were not able to have our missionaries join us in person, we were able to raise funds for some special projects for mis- sionaries. We raised over $15,000 to bless these missionaries and support their work! In April, our Awana awards ceremony took place. We are so thankful for everyone who came and contributed to make this a special year for our kids.

We continue the search for lead-

ers to fill the open positions in our church. Our search teams are hard at work and we prayerfully await the men God has to lead us.

Hodgson Bible Church Hodgson, Manitoba Hans Elgby, Pastor www.hodgsonbiblechurch.org In Hodgson, we have been able

to begin in-house services with limited capacity, following all the COVID-19 safety precautions. The Sunday services are available online for those who are not yet comfort- able attending in-person church. The congregation continues to have

Humboldt Bible Church Humboldt, Saskatchewan Sean Brandow, Pastor www.humboldtbiblechurch.ca Despite COVID-19 restrictions,

the church has been able to contin- ue its men’s Bible study every other Tuesday. They are studying the Gospel of Luke. Our church also has two ladies' Bible studies; one is on Zoom and one that meets in person. The youth have also been able to continue meeting together.

We are back to holding two

church services with a maximum number of 30 people. Pastor Sean also continues to put his messages up on YouTube.

the choice of attending Bible studies in church or through Zoom.

Sunday School has not yet

resumed. The Vacation Bible School program is ready to go as soon as the restrictions are relaxed further.

Fisher Bay Bible Camp commit-

tee has been meeting over Zoom. The plans are for the camps to be held from July 15 to August 15. The format may have to be changed, such as formatting it like a day camp, which would be run from 10 in the morning until three in the after- noon. The numbers may need to be limited to 50 campers, which would be split into two groups.

We continue to miss Wendy, our

Pastor’s wonderful wife, who went home to Heaven last fall.

The Lord has been good

through this past winter and we are looking forward to the day when we can meet face-to-face as a congregation.
