Fellow Lamborghini owner,
IT’S HARD TO BELIEVE THAT ANOTHER YEAR HAS PASSED, and it’s been over two years since we celebrated the 50th anniversary of the brand in Italy with the Grand Giro. But rumors around the dealer network hint that another very special event is being planned in Italy for 2016. It holds the possibility of a new limited edition model introduction to celebrate what would have been Ferruccio’s 100th birthday. So, we can look forward to plenty of monumental milestones in the near future!
For the Grand Giro in 2013, ticket sales were slow for the first week, but then quickly sold out. Once sold out, people were being offered two and three times the purchase price of their tickets, but no one that I know sold. And it was a wise decision; the Grand Giro was the event of a lifetime. If the rumors are true about the 2016 event, don’t delay a single moment in confirming your atten- dance when the factory announcement is made through the author- ized dealer network.
Likewise, 2015 was also full of events that defined the brand we love. In this year’s Super Trofeo World Final, which was held at Se- bring International Raceway in Florida, four of the five championship spots were taken by those from the American series. Super Trofeo started in Europe, expanded to Asia with a series there, and then ex- panded to America for a third series. At the end of the seasons for each of the three series, they come together for one world final. A new chapter in the Lamborghini brand history is just ahead of us with substantially increased production ushering in the new SUV. So 2016 and 2017 will likely end the current generation of production volume, as many expect the production for the brand
to more than double when the SUV debuts in 2018. Many feel that this higher production volume will be good for Lamborghini owners, creating stronger brand awareness, a better dealer network, and more support for the community of owners. Yes, some feel that the brand will be diluted with more Lam- borghini-badged vehicles on the road, but I believe that the brand is positioned well enough to stand strong, even with higher num- bers. For example, take a look at the past ten years where Audi ownership has brought production to an all-time high for the brand and made it profitable for the first time. Vintage Lamborghini values keep going up, without any negative effect from the higher number modern bulls on the road. Exciting times are ahead of us. The Lamborghini Club America has also enjoyed a fantastic year with a very successful Monterey Car Week, and the launch of an all new website incorporating plenty of added features for members to enhance their Lamborghini ownership experience. Please check out the new features, as we are in the process of adding all Lamborghini Club Magazine back issues into a viewer on the website. In this area of the site, members will be able to log in and view back issues on their smartphone, tablet, or computer.
Best regards, “
