Outstanding Homeowner Leader Award
The Outstanding Homeowner Leader Award recognizes homeowner leaders who demonstrates outstanding contributions to CAI, the association they serve, and to their surrounding communities. These individuals are committed to and clearly understand their role and fiduciary responsibility as community volunteers. CAI is pleased to recognize the 2025 Outstanding Homeowner Leader: DONNA WAKEMAN
For over 20 years, Donna has been a dedicated board member at Villa Venice Condominium Association — a role in which she has become the heart of the community. Donna knows every homeowner by name, maintains genuine relationships with residents, and serves as a trusted point of contact for countless community concerns.
Her leadership is grounded in compassion, transparency, and service. She consistently goes above and beyond to advocate for residents, resolve issues thoughtfully, and find creative, cost-effective solutions — often without fanfare or personal recognition.
Her contributions span every facet of community management including crisis leadership during a fire, financial stewardship through multiple contract renegotiations, record-keeping, community advocacy with the local village to address serious flooding issues, and project leadership, all while practicing empathy and inclusion.
In a world where few step forward to take on more, Donna continually does more — and then some. Her tireless efforts result in making the community safer, stronger, well maintained, updating the building facilities, funding the reserves, all the while being mindful of costs. Donna truly embodies what it means to be an Outstanding Homeowner Leader.
