Growth and Innovation: The 2020 Savanna Spectacular Building on the success of the inaugural event, the 2020 Sa- vanna Spectacular expanded its scope and moved to the Ozark Em- pire Fairground in Springfield, Mo. This year marked the 20th anniversary of both Pedigree International and the Savanna industry in the United States.
The celebration featured a monumental tiered cake crafted by Lacy Pruitt of Pruitt Farms, decorated with the names of participating breeders. The event offered more presentations, a steak dinner and a benefit auction filled with donated products and hand-crafted items. Lynn Newby, a professional auctioneer, volunteered his services for the Friday night auction, making it a highlight of the event. Saturday introduced a historic milestone: the first live auction of Savanna goats in the United States. The auction attracted both the public and remote participants through live broadcasting, setting a new precedent for the industry.
Expanding Horizons: The 2023 Savanna Spectacular The third Savanna Spectacular took place in 2023, further broadening the event’s offerings with the addition of retail vendors and breeder booths. A dessert bar, generously supplied by PI Savanna breeders, complemented the evening meal.
The benefit auction remained a highly anticipated feature, with custom knives — such as the handmade knife donated by Chad Waller — becoming especially popular among attendees. Once again, Lynn Newby energized the crowd as the official auctioneer, deliver- ing an hour of lively and spirited bidding.

Breeders and enthusiasts are encouraged to mark their calendars for September 25–26, 2026, and plan to attend the next chapter of this growing tradition in Springfield, Mo.

The 2023 Savanna Spectacu- lar was the biggest event yet. Attendees were welcomed with raffle tickets and gift bags.
The 2023 Gala had a packed house for the dinner and then robust bidding at the benefit auction.
