The Krack Monoblock by Hussmann is a low global warming potential (GWP) packaged refrigeration system for walk-ins and cold storage facilities. It provides operators with solutions to meet Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), American Innovation and Manufacturing (AIM) Act, and California Air Resources Board (CARB) refrigerant requirements while reducing installation costs associated with traditional remote systems. With a simple electrical connection and drain line, units can be installed and operational in a few hours without the need for costly refrigeration piping, charging of the system, roof penetrations, or crane charges that are typically needed for traditional remote systems.
What new features or innovations help this product stand out in the market? The Krack Monoblock packaged refrigeration system features dual or quad refrigeration circuits for increased capacity and better energy performance than single- circuit packaged refrigeration systems. The Monoblock also has variable-speed compressors, electronically commutated (EC) fan motors and hot gas defrost, which all work together to create a highly effi cient system with robust performance characteristics. The airfl ow design features evaporators throwing cold air 13 feet on both sides, providing better air circulation and temperature consistency compared to similar systems in the market.

Hussmann's application engineering team will provide system sizing, quantity of units needed, cutout locations, and installation support and guidance for any project where the Monoblock may be an option. Additionally, Hussmann's relationship with all major panel manufacturers allows for easy collaboration of factory provided cutouts when the walk-in panels leave the factory. This makes installation as easy as dropping off the specifi ed units onsite and working with the general contractor and tradesmen for fi nal electrical connection and drain line plumbing. Monoblock is available for low- and medium-temperature applications and in air-cooled or water-cooled versions. Hussmann can also provide fl uid coolers and pump stations to support water-cooled installations where an existing loop may not be available or have the capacity needed to support additional load.
