What problems does this product solve for operators?
By including water filtration, NEO is solving an issue a customer may not even be aware they have. Water filtration decreases scale buildup on the evaporator and helps to keep the machine cleaner for longer. More than half of service-related calls on ice machines are water related, and having better water going into the machine can decrease service and cleaning frequency. If a customer was cleaning their machine every three months, they could potentially extend that cleaning interval to every six months, or 50 percent fewer cleanings per year. The typical cost for a service technician to clean an ice machine varies between $150 and $300. That equates to a cleaning cost savings between $3,000 and $6,000 over the average 10-year lifespan of an ice machine. Ice machines require water filtration to improve the taste and clarity of the ice, maintain machine performance and increase equipment lifespan. In all standard size machines currently on the market, this would require a separate water filter at an additional cost. Locating the filter outside the machine also requires space, and failing to add a water filter would likely increase maintenance costs. NEO with Integrated Water Filtration overcomes these challenges and builds on a best-in-class design.
What new features or innovations help this product stand out in the market? Owners will be notified when the on-board filter requires replacement, and the filter is easily accessible for self-replacement if desired. The water filter that comes with each NEO machine reduces sediment, rust and suspended particles as small as 5 microns. This specially designed filter also reduces chlorine taste and odor, microplastics, filterable cysts, and hard scale.
Ease of use is especially important with undercounter ice machines. They are used frequently and often located in customers’ view. NEO with Integrated Water Filtration took this into consideration with an updated design, offering a sleek, modern appearance that elevates the visual impression of this front-of-house unit.
