never coexisted but today are inseparable. Social media has become a ubiquitous method of communication, connecting people across cultural, socioeconomic, geographic, and generational divides. If you are hosting an event anywhere in the United States, leveraging social media is essential According to Statista, as of 2021, 69% of American adults use Facebook, making it a prime platform for event promotion. Attendees frequently visit Facebook pages for updates on concert listings, new food options, pricing, discounts, and other relevant information. They “follow” your page to ensure they don’t miss any updates. Unlike websites, which require visitors to remember to check back for updates and information, social media integrates seamlessly into users’ daily routines. When you post about new rides at your event, guests see these updates while scrolling through their feeds, mixed with posts about their aunt’s latest trip to Louisiana. Social media transforms passive reminders into active engagement, making it an indispensable tool for event promotion and communication.

Different social media channels allow you to reach diverse audiences. Facebook typically appeals to a middle-aged demographic, with 77% of internet users aged 30-49 using the platform. TikTok, on the other hand, engages younger users, with 62% of its users aged 10-29. Instagram attracts those interested in the latest trends, and LinkedIn targets career professionals, many of whom might consider organizing a company outing at your event. The key to effective marketing is identifying your goals and building a plan accordingly. In today’s world of social media, there is something for

everyone, making it possible to reach virtually any target audience. The platforms make this process straightforward by offering features like cross-platform post scheduling and prompts to boost ads with step-by-step guidelines. Interestingly, even mistakes can increase engagement. For instance, a spelling error in a post can often lead to a surge in interaction, as seen in numerous viral instances where user engagement spikes due to the error. While the variety of options might seem overwhelming,

you don’t need to use every platform. Choose the ones that align with your goals and see what works. Rest assured, your audience wants you to connect with them, and with the right approach, you will.
