NIRI Designates Irwin, Stockperks, Q4 and S&P Global Market Intelligence as Approved PDU Providers

N

IRI recently designated four new companies as Approved Professional Development Unit

(PDU) Providers. Tey include Irwin, Stockperks, Q4 and

S&P Global Market Intelligence. Rivel also earned this status earlier in May 2022. Through this program, NIRI Investor

Relations Charter (IRC)® holders are now able to earn PDUs at select educational events held by these companies, including forums, seminars, and webinars. Te purpose of the Approved PDU Pro-

vider Program is to help IRC holders maintain their certification and give entities that offer education, training and/or other IR-related knowledge programming the opportunity to be recognized to award PDUs for certifica- tion renewal purposes. Tis collaboration promotes the contin-

ued competence of IRC holders by making it easier for them to access educational resources, promotes awareness of the IR profession, and improves the standard of IR excellence. Executives of each company praised the

new partnerships. “We are proud that Irwin is an Approved

Professional Development Unit (PDU) Pro- vider,” said Irwin COO and Co-Founder Mark Fasken. “Te role of the investor relations professional is always changing, but what remains constant is the importance it plays to the health and success of any public company globally. Even more so in today’s challenging markets, it’s important to be equipped with the knowledge and skills to thrive when presented with new challenges and opportunities.” Stockperks President Agnies Watson

NIRI Releases Revised Policy Statement on ESG Disclosure

N

IRI released its updated Policy Statement on ESG Disclosure in Fall 2022. This

is a substantial revision, and reflects the latest developments in this area. “One of the ways NIRI meets its

important mission is by developing standards and best practices for the investor relations profession such as this resource, originally published in 2019,” says NIRI President and CEO Matthew Brusch, CAE. “Tere have arguably been few other IR-related topics that have evolved so rapidly during the past few years.” He explains that the dramatic in-

crease in ESG-focused assets under management, investor interest in corporate ESG information, and rise in ESG-related proxy proposals led the NIRI Board of Directors to revisit its original policy statement. Tis update outlines key criteria,

best practice recommendations, and steps IR professionals should take to support management in evaluating and communicating ESG factors. It also provides helpful background, historical context, and additional resources. Brusch thanks the members of the

NIRI ESG & Diversity Practices Com- mittee for their work on this project. Visit www.niri.org/NIRI/media/NIRI/ Advocacy/NIRI_Updated-ESG_Poli- cy_Statement_Approved_Final_2022_1. pdf. IR
