DC FAQs By WSCA Staff Where do I place a

classified ad with the WSCA and where do I post job openings? Why are these in two separate places?

The WSCA has two places for its members to advertise to one another. First, we have classified ads. You can find these on our website by hovering over the Plexus drop-down menu and selecting “Place a classified ad.” This is where you post ads for vacation relief, practices for sale, equipment for sale, and the like. Ads are posted online for two months and are printed in the next issue of Plexus following ad submission.

We also have our Career Center. This is where you post job opportunities. You can find it at https://careers.chirohealth.org.

We have the two separated because the Career Center tool offers more than just static ads, like the classifieds. The Career Center has job postings, but it also has the ability to repost ads to hundreds of other job sites. It also hosts a resume bank for jobseekers, and it offers a number of career development tools for them. Since the Career Center offers so much more than the classifieds, and because it is dynamic, we bifurcated the two about four years ago and have seen far greater successes among our members seeking to fill positions.

What can you tell me about the Change Healthcare cyber-attack earlier

this year? Do I need to do anything/notify my patients about it?

Change Healthcare, a subsidiary of United Health Group, suffered a cyber-attack back in February which compromised some of the patient data it held and negatively impacted the provider reimbursement process. Although pharmacies saw the most significant impacts by far, individual providers have also experienced the effects. But it is important to note that the target of the attack was Change Healthcare. The individual providers and the data they have were not targeted, thankfully. As such, you have no duty to inform your patients of the data breach—that is on Change Healthcare. The Office of the Insurance Commissioner is monitoring the situation and has been giving regular updates. As it is now, their highest priority is ensuring continuity of care for patients. If you have patients who were affected by this incident, they should report it to the OIC. If you have seen slow reimbursements (or should we say, slower than usual), the OIC is encouraging you to be patient. Change Healthcare is working on the matter and all claims will eventually be paid.
