APT Board of Directors Calling all leaders! The nominations committee is looking for candidates who are committed to the goals of the association, have great


collaborating and listening skills, and are passionate about APT. Director candidates must have extensive play therapy knowledge; have been a Professional member in good standing for the past five (5) years or more; maintained an active Registered Play Therapist (RPT), Supervisor (RPT-S), or School Based – Registered Play Therapist (SB-RPT) credential; demonstrated a working knowledge of the Policy Governance Model; and have a temperament that contributes to and generates group consensus, wisdom, and vision.

Call for Award Nominations APT sponsors several Awards of Excellence for individuals who embody its values of service, leadership, and contribution to the play therapy


field and community. Nominate your fellow play therapists for one of the following awards before the March 15, 2020 deadline:


• APT Service Award: Individual demonstrates outstanding organizational service in the play therapy field and community. • Emerging Leader Service Award: Emerging leader whose contribution to APT, Foundation for Play Therapy, and/or its chartered branches is leaving a positive mark in the field of play therapy.


• Research Award: Individual has published research that significantly develops, promotes, or advances the value of play, play therapy, and credentialed play therapists.


• Student Research Award: Research conducted by graduate or doctoral student that significantly develops, promotes, or advances the value of play, play therapy, and credentialed play therapists.


• Lifetime Achievement Award: For 25+ years, the individual has contributed and significantly advanced the field and image of play therapy and/or the programs and activities. *Must be endorsed by two past Lifetime Achievement Award recipients.


All nominations must satisfy minimum criteria and will be evaluated by Awards Committee Chair Renee Turner, PhD, LPC-S, RPT-S and the Awards of Excellence Committee. Visit the Awards of Excellence page of the APT Website for application and more information.
