The book is well organized and offers a balanced and thorough review of established play therapy theories and practices. The authors support the reader in developing a personal style and approach to play therapy by comparing and contrasting popular theories.


Additionally, the authors convey a wealth of knowledge on broad play therapy strategies and approaches for building relationships. The use of play to support clients in gaining insight and facilitating change is explored in a practical, clear, and easy to follow manner. The use of real-life examples and stories help illustrate the various concepts introduced by the authors. Many opportunities are offered for the reader to reflect and personalize


the material. The authors do not shy away from complicated issues and address the many challenges and concerns faced by play therapists.


The book concludes with helpful resources on play therapy practice and theory, children’s books, and professional information. Mental health  valuable, comprehensive, and informative resource.
