APT Board


of Directors Call for Nominees DIRECTORS WANTED!


APT invites nominees who possess excellent listening and group collaboration skills, a temperament that contributes to and generates group consensus, wisdom, and vision to apply to serve on the Board of Directors. Director candidates must have extensive play therapy knowledge; have been a Professional  Registered Play Therapist (SB-RPT) credential; and demonstrated a working knowledge of the Policy Governance Model.


Visit the Board of Directors page of the APT Website, under the About APT tab, for more information or to access the Director Candidate Questionnaires. Submit your Questionnaire no later than March 31, 2020.


APT presents the Awards of Excellence to those members who exhibit    therapy and the values of the Association by demonstrating outstanding achievements, contributions, and service. Award nominations will be accepted from February 1 through March 15, 2020.

International Chair


Kara Carnes-Holt and the 30-members representing the 2020 APT Conference Program Committee invite potential presenters to submit proposals that reflect the most innovative, timely, and diverse play therapy topics informed by theory, research, and practice. Proposals must be submitted by January 17, 2020 in order to receive committee consideration.


Play Therapy Brochures


The “Why Play Therapy?” brochure is now available in French! Along with its English and Spanish versions, this brochure is an excellent resource for anyone who might be interested in learning more about play therapy. APT brochures can be ordered online without cost to you from the APT website.
