FUNDRAISER IN ST. CHARLES HOSTED BY REPRESENTATIVE DAN J. UGASTE
Emeritus ILAC (Illinois Legislative Action Committee) member Marshall N. Dickler along with his spouse Barbara Dickler were accompanied by ILAC member Diane F. Pagoulatos and her spouse, John Pagoulatos and the CAI Illinois lobbyist, Jeff Dixon at the fundraiser of Representative Dan J. Ugaste of the 65th District.
This fundraiser was held in October at the Pollyanna Brewing Company. At this fundraiser Marshall Dickler and Diane F. Pagoulatos discussed with Representative Dan Ugaste current issues impacting the condo industry. They discussed current legislation involving laws regulating electric charging vehicles and solar energy issues.
The goal of the ILAC is to communicate information to current and potential future members of the Illinois House and Senate. During visits with lawmakers, the ILAC communicates to members of the legislature the efforts of the ILAC and PAC about pending legislation. The ILAC is instrumental in introducing legislation, crafting bills regarding issues in the condo community and monitoring bills introduced relevant to the condo industry.
Attending various fundraisers held by legislators in the Metropolitan Chicagoland area, ILAC members are able to meet and greet and raise awareness of various issues concerning board members of community associations, homeowners, community association managers and business partners of the condo industry.
This year, members of the ILAC have attended fundraisers hosted by legislators in McHenry County, Will County, Cook County, and Lake County.
Members of the ILAC also attend Lobby Day in Springfield annually. Scheduling appointments with the legislators creates ample opportunities to ensure effective discussions on proposed and current legislation for community associations on the national, state and municipal levels. Discourse with our legislators promotes communication and knowledge on various subjects of the condo industry. Legislators might not have awareness of the current problems and challenges in today’s climate of the condo community.
Another aspect of the Illinois Legislative Action Committee is fundraising. There are membership education and donation drives during the year. These drives provide opportunities to be present at conferences and places of importance to raise awareness of relevant issues in the legislative arena concerning the condo
community. Donations are welcomed to assist in continuing the efforts of the ILAC. https://advocacy.
