On the topic of finding heroes in your community, Midwest Property Services can shed some light on how we have helped many associations with improving their communities. Heroes come in many forms, and at MPS we strive to improve the wellness of the communities we serve. No job is too big or too small, from drywall repairs to community power outages. We always make sure the community managers, board members, and homeowners know who they can count on.


Helping community associations is right in our wheelhouse. We offer many annual contracts from interior/exterior painting, wood replacement, to plumbing inspections, water heater, and boiler maintenance, all of which are preventative maintenance efforts. We are here to ease the burden for community association managers and association boards.


MPS is here for our communities whether it be for an emergency or standard maintenance requests. Recently, one of our communities had a total loss of power for the entire association. After we assessed the issue, we concluded that commercial generators were necessary, brought them in, and spearheaded the project to quickly get power back to the community residents.


Safety is a #1 priority at MPS, from emergency and exit lights to smoke detectors and door locks. We pride ourselves in staying current with all state and local regulations. We also provide exterior light inspections and replacement for all communities.


Midwest Property Services also assists community residents with lockouts. There is nothing more frustrating than running out in a hurry to grab laundry or take out the trash and coming back to a locked door. Some community associations have copies of keys for each unit so the on-call technician can let the resident back into his or her home. We have also installed lockboxes at each unit’s entry for times like these, or for the local fire department to have access during a medical emergency so there isn’t any forceful entry. In the event the fire department must break down a unit door, we can help in repairing the door and the frame. We have helped hundreds of associations and residents by securing residential units after an emergency.


MPS also cleans gutters, downspouts, and underground drains. We all know how damaging water can be! Gutters


and roofs are not designed to hold standing water for too long. Having your association’s gutters cleaned twice a year prevents a build-up of debris, which can cause expensive and preventable damage to your property.


We inspect and test sump pumps for proper operation. Sump pumps are designed to remove excess water around the foundation during a flood or heavy rain. We have also pumped out parking lots and garages to redirect the water away from the property due to flooding.


Has your association experienced ice damming? We can help with that too. Every winter we receive many emergency calls to assist in clearing ice damming. We can prevent that from happening by installing electric heat cable along the edge of the roofline and gutters before the winter freeze. This has saved many associations and residents significant money. With ice damming, the water has nowhere to go so it will find a way under the shingles and trim and can wreak havoc in units and buildings. We also remove snow from roofs to prevent ice damming as well. This work relates to making sure your association has gutters and downspouts cleaned twice a year.


Your average maintenance company may not be faster than a speeding bullet, more powerful than a locomotive or able to leap tall buildings in a single bound, but Midwest Property Services can indeed address problems both large and small and of multiple natures to help your community.
