83 does post strong sale averages The Heartland Kiko Production sale was held July 2-3 in Law-

rence, Kan. The event is organized by longtime Kiko producers Wes and Bev Pinneo, Jim and Angie Loos and Mike and Vanessa Hogan. This year additional consignors to the sale included Dewey and Addie Short, Colton and Kelsey Pritchett, Pat Larr and Betty Joubert, Mat- thew and Jennifer Cantrell and Kellen and Sarah Weissenbach. The event started on Friday with viewing the livestock and lots of goat talk and comradery. Saturday morning featured educational programs presented by Drs. Richard and Maria Browning. The fireworks for the event started at 11 a.m. with a lively and strong auction of the 94 lots presented at the sale. There were eight semen lots from well-known Kiko bucks, as well as three bucks and 83 yearling Kiko does. The auction saw good participation from at- tendees from across the country, as well as online buyers through cowbuyer.com.

Prices reflected the high quality of the animals presented, with

the American Purebreds bringing an average price of $950, while the 100% New Zealand animals averaged $1,300. The high-selling doe was consigned by Jim and Angie Loos of

Red Ranch Goats and brought $2,400. She was purchased by Kam- eron Perrodin of Perrodise Farms. We are looking forward to the 2022 Heartland Kiko Production Sale! Follow us on Facebook and at www.heartlandkikosale.com for details.
