ASSOCIATE SPOTLIGHT

with my customers and develop new industry relationships. Today over 50 percent of my clients

are from the construction industry. Tat’s why I’ve decided to invest so much of my time participating in AGC and giving back to the industry.

What is your biggest goal for the Associates Council in 2019? We want to engage more broadly

with the associate members, commu- nicate better and encourage everyone to participate more. I’ve been actively working with Associates Committee Vice Chair Mahyar Ghassemian (Ghassemian Law Group) and AGC staff to formulate a communication strategy to make associate members more aware of all the exciting things that are happening, as well as the types of opportunities that are opening up that allow associate members to

contribute. When I joined AGC, it wasn’t

really obvious to me all the different ways I could contribute and participate. Tis year, we really want to make sure our members share ideas in a way that sparks some new initiatives.

What do you see as the biggest value associate members get from their membership in AGC? I think it is super valuable to be able

to interact with your clients outside the normal venue, to talk to them and get to know them better. Getting to know new folks and what their business concerns are is really valuable as well. I feel if I’m serving my clients in the construction industry, its incumbent on me to understand what they are facing above and beyond how I can help them.

On the flip side of that, associate

members bring a lot of expertise that we can use to help general contractors and specialty contractor members with their businesses – not only through our services but also with the education component.

What are you most excited about in terms of being a part of AGC right now? Well we’re on the cusp of the AGC

of California 100th year anniversary,

which is a very important milestone. We want to get everybody excited about offering their ideas and their support in order to make it a fantastic anniversary celebration! 
