NON-PROFIT OF THE YEAR CULPEPER PRIDE
KIM ATKINS PHOTOGRAPHY.
Culpeper’s First Pride Festival grew into a safe space for the LGBT+ community through outreach, advocacy and support. The group also operates The Rainbow Closet every third Sunday at The SEE Recovery Center in Culpeper. In its fi rst year, the non-profi t hosted a festival with three times the amount of people expected to attend. They have given scholarships to Culpeper County High School, Eastern View High School and homeschooled students. They have built relationships with other local non-profi t organizations to prioritize building safe groups and community events for families, individuals and more.
