Effective SEL Programs


Given the strong evidence of the benefits of social-emotional learning (SEL) to a wide range of student outcomes, as well as an influx of federal funding, many education leaders are looking to adopt SEL program- ming to support academic acceleration, mental health, trauma-sensitive learning environments, workforce readiness, and other key priorities.

The CASEL Guide to SEL Programs pro-

How Gen Z Thinks About Careers


What do today’s students think about their future? Brainly surveyed 5,000 students in middle school through college and com- pared their responses to similar questions posed to their three preceding generations: Millennials, Gen X, and Baby Boomers. Here’s what they found: • Gen Z is less salary-driven: 37% of Gen Z thinks that salary is the most important aspect of a future job, as com- pared to 58% of baby boomers, 49% of millennials, 49% of Gen X.


• Gen Z is more status-concerned: Gen Z cares the most about job title.


• Younger generations value personal time: Gen Z cares the most about time off or travel policy (15% say it’s most impor- tant). Baby boomers (3%) care the least.
