Buckner, Breen, Bartels Nominated for MBA
and Wade "Pee Wee"
J.R. Buckner
President and CEO First Federal Bank of Kansas City J.R. Buckner has served as a director on MBA’s Board of Directors since June 2019. Buckner joined First Federal Bank of Kansas City in November 2012 and was named president and CEO in April 2014. He is a member of the American Bankers Association’s Mutual Institutions Council and has served on the Mutual Savings Association Advisory Council to the Office of the Comptroller of Currency. Buckner is a
graduate of the Missouri School of Banking and the Graduate School of Banking in Boulder, Colorado, where he was an instructor for nine years. A participant in MBA’s Washington Visit, Buckner has served on MBA’s PAC Committee and the Bylaws Task Force.
Adrian Breen
Executive Chairman and CEO/President Te Bank of Missouri, Perryville Adrian Breen currently represents Region 7 on MBA’s Board of Directors and has served as a director since June 2019. Breen joined Te Bank of Missouri in February 2017. He is the president of Reliable Community Bancshares Inc., the holding company for Te Bank of Missouri. With nearly 35 years of banking experience, Breen is a third- generation banker who began his career in Cincinnati and has worked
in numerous financial roles with regional banks and community banks in Ohio and Nebraska. Breen has served on MBA’s River Heritage PAC Committee and Strikeforce Grassroots Team. Breen is a member of the American Banking Association’s Government Relations Council.
Wade “Pee Wee” Bartels
President and CEO Alliance Bank, Cape Girardeau Wade “Pee Wee” Bartels currently represents Region 7 on MBA’s Board of Directors and has served as a director since June 2020. Bartels has been with Alliance Bank for the past seven years, serving as president and CEO since 2020. Before joining Alliance, Bartels served as chief financial officer/associate superintendent for the Jackson School District and previously was vice president at Commerce Bank in
Cape Girardeau. He has served on MBA’s Budget and Audit Committee, River Heritage PAC Committee and the Strikeforce Grassroots Team. Bartels is an adjunct instructor at Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau and completed the Graduate School of Banking in Boulder, Colorado, in 2018.
