Donations to MBA Foundation Support Financial Education By Rachael Preston, Vice President of Member Services
If there’s one theme that has characterized the initial years of the 2020 decade, uncertainty tops the list. From the COVID-19 pandemic to economic disruptions to increasing inflation rates that we haven’t experienced in 40 years, many are weathering challenges. Yet it is in times like these that we experience the best of humanity as neighbors and strangers extend help to others.
Tat generous spirit is shown every year through your contributions to the Missouri Bankers Foundation. MBA established the foundation in 1985 to provide funding for college scholarships for high school students planning to pursue banking-related college degrees. Since then, the foundation’s mission has been expanded. Te foundation continues to award scholarships annually to high school seniors, and it has expanded its reach by awarding scholarships to college students who completed an internship with an MBA-member bank.
Donations to the Missouri Bankers Foundation also provide funding support for these programs. • awards for young bankers working in the banking industry • the foundation’s speaker series • the foundation’s robbery reward program • recognition of 50 Year Club members • statewide financial literacy efforts
Working together, Missouri banks support students, financial education and recognition programs that touch and strengthen the banking industry throughout our state.
