Rob Barrett, commissioner for the Missouri Division of Finance in Jefferson City, was honored with the MBA Chairman’s Award on Tursday, July 15, during MBA’s 131st Annual Convention at the Chateau on the Lake Resort in Branson. MBA Past Chairman Anne Vieira presented the award to Barrett.

“Rob took his skill and love for grassroots engagement to the division and led them and our industry to two very significant state legislative victories in this past session — modernizing our banking laws and implementing residential PACE reform,” Vieira said. “His message to the legislature, as a regulator and champion for consumers, resonated with state lawmakers.”

Barrett was appointed commissioner by Gov. Mike Parson in November 2019 and was confirmed by the Senate in early 2020. Barrett served as MBA chairman in 2018.

A graduate of the University of Missouri-Columbia, Barrett’s banking career spans nearly four decades. He previously served as president and CEO of Heritage State Bank in Nevada.

Barrett and his wife, Susan, enjoy Jefferson City during the week but always are anxious to return to their home in Nevada, where they still own farms and cattle but most importantly are close to their grandchildren.

Ken Littlefield, board chairman of Central Bank in Jefferson City, was honored with the MBA Chairman’s Award on Tursday, July 15, during MBA’s 131st Annual Convention at the Chateau on the Lake Resort in Branson. Outgoing MBA Chair- man Brice Luetkemeyer present- ed the award to Littlefield.

“I first met Ken in the 1980s

when we worked at the Missouri Division of Finance,” Luetke- meyer said. “It was a time many banks failed or struggled with the recession and rising interest rates. I admired the firm but relaxed demeanor Ken had in facing daunting issues, problems and challenges in that uncertain time. His extraordinary work has helped shape the integrity of the banking industry for several decades.”

Littlefield joined Central Bancompany in 1995 as executive vice president of risk administration. He was elected president of Central Bank in June 2007, becoming the eighth president in the bank’s history. In April 2010, he was elected vice chair- man of administration for the holding company. Littlefield served as MBA chairman in 2013.

At its convention, MBA also honored Littlefield for 50 years of service to the banking community. Littlefield’s 50-year career includes 13 years with the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency in Kansas City, Missouri; San Francisco and Wash- ington, D.C. He also has served as state banking commissioner for Missouri and Texas.
