WHAT COULD BE HAPPENING IN WOMENS MINISTRIES! By Vicki Marsh

anymore. After 30 years in my house, I had not realized how much stuff I had kept and what I could have done with it earlier! As my process of the “Big Clean Out” continued, I became a frequent visitor to the library (so many boxes of books!), Goodwill, and Habitat for Humanity. Whenever I heard of someone at church who needed household goods, I invited them over to get anything that they could use. The point to this story is this: When you get rid of the “extra” things that you really don’t need or use, there is a wonderful feeling of freedom. You can more clearly see what is impor- tant and you appreciate what you do have. I think I understand a little better the story of the rich young man who wanted to follow Jesus but couldn’t give up all that he had! In our lives, it is important that we simplify what we have so that our focus is on what is really important—our rela-

tionship with God. We need to be “free” to put Him first and not distracted by “things”. I encourage you to see what you might not need that someone else might! A couple of years ago, some ladies from a small church told me about a “Moneyless Yard Sale” that they had at their church. All brought things that they did not wear or need anymore and all were encouraged to take what they could use. Women’s Ministries is not always about money. It was a project that helped them fellowship and unclutter their lives. As for me, my house sold in 24 hours, I have moved, and I am STILL unpacking boxes. It might be time for me to start decluttering again! I hope you are making plans to attend the ARPWM Annual Meeting at Bonclarken on October 12th!?

ver a year ago, I was asked if I might be interested in renting my house to the Meberg family for a month before they left for France and ultimately for me to have it ready to sell so I could move to Greenville, SC, where my family lives. I agreed as it would give me that extra push to begin getting rid of things that I really did not need
