Adventure By Bryan Crotts H

ow has your life changed over the last few weeks? I suppose drastically! Less running around, anxiety over supplies, and lots of “what ifs”. We are all out of our comfort zones.

Consider this an adventure. An adventure to discover more about our God. There’s no better way to get

through a crisis than to keep your eyes on the character of God. We can learn from the Scriptures that our God is in control. There are no particles or planets beyond his kingly rule. He loves His children and is attentive to their cries. Some homework for you—read Psalms 23, 27, 91, 121. Get to know God more! An adventure to discover your spiritual health. Every major American idol

has been snatched from us. Money, sports, education, comfort, availability, and so on. Are you lamenting what has been taken from you or looking to the One who wants our full attention? An adventure to help others discover Christianity. Have you noticed that in

our increasingly anti-social culture, that a good crisis opens doors for conversa- tions? A fire truck in the neighborhood breaks down barriers, as does the af- termath of a destructive storm. People gather around a downed tree and make

introductions to people they’ve lived nearby for months or years. Seize the moment before you and reach out. Show kindness to those around

you. Step back from the store shelf when another anxious shopper reaches for the same item. Smile. Be courteous, patient, and helpful.

Be generous. So many are devastated by job furloughs and layoffs. If you have extra funds or extra rations, give them in the name of Christ. Lend a helping hand. Families are

juggling changing work conditions coupled with loss of childcare. You may have an elderly neighbor whose children live too far away to help. Do you have an anxious friend,

loved one, or neighbor? Pray with them!

Memorize a favorite Bible passage

that has personal meaning to you in this time and make it your mini-ser- mon to any who will hear. Some of us don’t like adventures,

however, we are past the point of no return. We are on an adventure that will define our lives in this his- toric moment. God is always on the move—for His glory and our eternal good!?
