Starring lion trainer extraordinaire Martin Lacey, Jr. and equestrienne Jana Mandana Lacey Krone, Manada is the brainchild of Hungarian circus director Bence Vági whose vision was to “create a cohesive aesthetic while highlighting the positive treatment of animals.” The cutting-edge show was praised by critics for “bringing the production value of a Broadway show to the roots of traditional circus.” Check out a “must see” 14+ minute video on the making of Mandana on YouTube (search zwei Leidenschaften ein Circus). Two large barns from the original American Circus Corporation’s winter quarters have been placed on Indiana’s “10 most endangered historical properties” list. A $1 million fund-raising campaign has been launched by the International Circus Hall of Fame in Peru (IN) to save the historic buildings. And finally, Ward Hall, famed “King of the Sideshow” who furnished sideshow artists to American circuses during the first half of the 20th century, was recently inducted posthu- mously into the 13th Annual Sideshow Fall of Fame at Coney Island (NY). 
