VOLT TRAINING PROGRAM S

ince 2017 the OABA Education Committee has been working on the VOLT (Virtual On Line Train-

By Marc Janas B. Original Foods LLC

ing) program for OABA members. It was rolled out late in the season last year and we have had a few carnivals beta test the program. We have tweaked a few issues and VOLT is now ready

to assist you in your training efforts. The VOLT training program is a simple to use comprehensive tool that allows individuals to view short video content, take a retention test, and provide documentation on com- pleted courses. It’s a great way to train your seasonal workers.

There are several different topics, in both Spanish and English, that are ready for you to use. We are creating ad- ditional content as we speak to broaden the effectiveness of

this program, which can be accessed by computer, tablet or smart phone.

The OABA Board appreciates the generosity of suppliers

such as A.R.M. Rides, Fare Foods, Firestone Financial, Haas & Wilkerson Insurance and Rides- 4-U and their commitments to support this effort, as they too, share the common goals of safety and operations excellence. Greg Chiecko, OABA President, said “This is the easiest to use and most comprehen- sive training tool that I have ever seen. Every carnival should be using this great asset to train and document their workers. Once you go through an online demonstration, mem- bers can see for themselves just how amaz- ing this online tool is. I don’t think people understand what VOLT is all about.” If you go to the education page on the

OABA website, OABA.org, you can watch a short video about VOLT and schedule a demonstration. If you have any ques- tions, or would like to schedule a demonstration please contact Sue Gallup at sueg@oaba.org or call 407-848-4958. 
