potluck since the pandemic followed Roberto’s message, giving time for interaction with Roberto, Heather and their family, who are home on furlough from the Philippines. Te family sang in Tagalog (a native language in the Philippines), showed pictures, gave us Filipino food, and answered many questions about their work in Cebu Children’s Shelter. Tis shelter houses 55 children, 17 teenagers, and four handicapped adults. Before lockdown, their own children were able to read to the shelter children, help babysit on house parents' days off, change diapers, and play with children.

A big thank you goes to Frank Wiens, who

donated missions books to our church library. His son, Jim Wiens, presented about his work in Russia with Avant on July 27.
