Focus on Our Churches

Northeast Bible Church Calgary, Alberta John Fehr, Pastor www.facebook.com/Blessraethose We like to celebrate children’s

birthdays in Sunday School and in Feb- ruary, with a young boy who was very excited to celebrate his seventh birthday. When kids have birthdays, a parent brings a cake and we make it a fun time. Te birthday child also gets to choose a present out of the surprise box.

Valentine’s Day, which was on a

Sunday, was lots of fun for the kids. Tey gave Valentines to each other, did a craſt, and received treats. It was a fun celebration.

Easter will be celebrated as a time

of great joy for what God has done for each of us. He has risen; He has risen indeed! We are thankful.

On Mother’s Day the children

will be reading a letter they have each written to their mother. Tis is such fun for all to hear how and why children love their mothers so much. Tere is also a time for adults to share on Mother’s Day.

We have to do things differently in

these COVID-19 days. We have found it good for building character in our lives. We have added new habits and rules: social distancing, masks, sani- tizing, plexiglass, tapping elbows, no hugging, no shaking hands, no kissing cheeks, and lots of cleaning. We have restrictions of course but we want to do what our government says we should.

We can worship and praise our

God in all circumstances. Isn’t that wonderful?

Northeast BC Birthday At this time only 22 people can

attend church each Sunday. People must sign up to come. We do not have an online service. It is great to see that people are willing to stay home to make sure everyone is able to get a day to come to church in-person. Technology helps us to stay connected. Te prayer chain is so important. Tere is a small group of adults who pray prior to the service for the needs of people and for the service.

“Te Lord bless you and keep you.” Marilyn Fehr, Church Correspondent
