Ask people that are close to you this question: “Am I someone that follows through on the things that I say I am going to do?” Give them the freedom to answer you honestly without you getting angry. Ask them to be specific one way or another. Write down what you learn.


Why is it so important to be faithful to do what you say you are going to do?


Prayer Father, I am so grateful that you never change. You are always faithful to your promises.


I need to grow in this area. I need to be a man, a woman, of my word. Help me to carefully think about the things that I promise I will do, and follow through on them. Help me to do what I say I am going to do, even if it requires a great sacrifice on my part. May my “Yes” be “Yes” and my “No” be “No”. Only you can give me the power to do this. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
